Ready Grains cereal twin-packs
Ready Grains, a multigrain cereal marketed by Kozy Shack in the U.S., relies on a proprietary, slow kettle-cooking and –filling process to keep product fresh and firm in the dairy case in this twin-pack of cereal and milk in a single-serve container. The all-natural cereal is packed in a 7-oz white polypropylene bowl. The container comes with a peelable film lidstock and is microwave-friendly. The bowls are sold in two-packs held together by a paperboard sleeve decorated with images of the prepared cereal and ingredients.

Elegant closure tops off artful Rémy Martin carafe
Rémy Martin’s 1898 Coupe Fine Champagne cognac, marketed exclusively in China, is all about craftsmanship. The brand owner signals the cognac’s craftsmanship through a European-shaped carafe whose center draws inspiration from a centaur, the Asiatic symbol of influence. Rémy Martin expresses its technical product mastery in the overcap with the reproduction of a highly detailed centaur image, which is accomplished with three-shot tampo printing. The steel-weighted, one-piece overcap was crafted with a polypropylene overmolding, UV gold metallization, three-shot tampo printing, and virtually invisible seams.

Dual-dispenser shampoo bottle
Dual-dispenser packaging is well known in cosmetics aisles as a convenient way to combine more than one product at the point of use, but it’s a relative stranger to the shampoo aisle. Nexxus Dualiste Color Protection + Intense Hydration Dual-Benefit Shampoo extends the functionality of the dual-pump pack to hair care. Dual dispensers combine product that gently cleans color-treated hair, mixing the products at the optimal time to maximize efficacy. The plastic bottle includes a dual-pump dispenser and a press-on cap, and is decorated with a shrink-sleeve label. From Mintel International

I-Clean Multi-Surface Cleaner
The innovation for I-Clean Multi-Surface Cleaner, available in four fragrance varieties and marketed in the U.K., is that it reduces packaging waste. The PET bottle with dispensing closure does not need to be replaced with a new bottle and trigger once it is finished, as it only needs to be refilled with a new I-Clean pod and filled with water. This product is available in a recyclable 500-ml plus one 15-ml refill pod. From Mintel International

Traction—in handled, spouted 5-lb bag
Earth Innovations, Ottawa, ON, Canada, markets EcoTraction, a winter traction agent for use on icy surfaces, in a 5-lb stand-up bag with a carrying handle and a pour spout. The smaller bag, a PET construction that is reverse flexo-printed in eight colors and laminated to a layer of low-density polyethylene, better suits available shelf space in home improvement centers, C-stores, service stations, and specialty stores. The spout is protected by a screw cap that also guards against spills when the bag is not in use.

Pharma wallet pack
Bayer Schering Pharma AG in Berlin uses a three-part “Triguilar” wallet pack for a contraceptive it markets in Europe. The package combines compliance and convenience. The wallet is flat and easy to carry. It has the form of a miniature folder, consisting of three sections: a blister card holding the pills, patient information, and dry-peel calendar stickers. These are preprinted and can be flexibly applied to the blister card to help the user remember when to take pills.
