In southeast China, packaging for food that can spoil has to work doubly hard. Beyond brand communication, it has to protect the product from the region ’ s heat and humidity.
For Linyi Xincheng JinLuo Meat Products Co. Ltd., China, the solution is a high-barrier, multi-layer film package, developed by J&A Industrial (Suzhou) Co., to extend the shelf life of its popular corn sausage snack. The package prevents discoloration and a watery appearance when food is subjected to “ the elements. ”
JinLuo corn sausage contains 3 to 5% natural corn ingredients. This gives the sausage a sweet flavor but also increases its moisture content. The product ’ s packaging uses polyvinylidene chloride (PVDC) film from Dow Chemical to preserve product freshness. The film maintains its high barrier properties against moisture and oxygen. From a design perspective, the film offers, high clarity for stunning graphics, an important sales tactic for food products.
