From fabric and skin care to energy drinks, new packages communicate what the product does

Mintel’s Global New Products Database cites several products that have recently come on the market. Each product’s packaging spotlights the product benefits.

In the United States, Avon Products combines Icelandic water derived from deep volcanic springs—and acclaimed for exceptional purity—with therapeutic vitamins, minerals, and other ingredients to create the Avon Planet Spa Icelandic Mineral Water skin care collection.

The vitamin-fortified line includes cooling body mist, moisturizer, cleanser, body wash, and eye patches, which Avon markets as promoting healthy looking skin. Distribution is online or through Avon representatives.

Products across the line are developed to soothe the skin, and packaging for the cooling body mist reflects this benefit. A calming, silk-screen-printed blue-and-white gradient pattern on the adhesive label conveys the effect of a relaxing spa treatment. The label decorates a PET bottle containing 5.9 oz of body mist and bearing an injection-molded, press-on plastic cap with a misting dispenser.

Suggested retail price is $6.99.
